For those of you hoping that Anderson Silva had given up his retarded plan to leave MMA and box Roy Jones Jr, I have bad news for you:
PDL – It looks like your dreamed-of bout with boxer Roy Jones, which would mark your retirement, may really happen. Is that true?
AS – After my contract with the UFC ends and end my career in MMA, I intend to have a boxing match with Roy Jones. That’s something that’s already been arranged, it’s all practically a done deal. Now I just have to wait and see.
So does this mean once his current contract with the UFC is up, that’s the end of his MMA career? Roy Jones Jr ain’t getting any younger, so you have to figure this shit has to happen sooner rather than later. The how of it is all that’s left. If Silva leaves the UFC for this fight, will he come back? Will he just stop afterwards? Will any commission allow it?
Anderson Silva doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who’s been foolish with his money, so it’s really up to what he feels like doing. That’s the whole problem with paying non-stupid people pro sports level money: they can and often do stop after making a reasonable amount.
