American Gladiators sharks another female MMA fighter

It looks like American Gladiators has snatched another MMA fighter away from the fold to join their spandexed ranks. Erin Toughill will be participating in the second season of the show, which is set to kick off early may. While I’m still kinda pissed at AG for stealing away the face of female MMA with Gina Carano, I’m not too sore about losing Toughill. She was pretty sick of the situation in women’s MMA and had basically ‘retired’ in 2007. I put the word ‘retired’ in quotes though because kids these days seem to think ‘retiring’ means taking six months to a year off.

Above you can see a video of the SmackGirl World ReMix tournament from 2004, where she KO’d two of her opponents before being disqualified in the finals for bullshit elbows. Her opponent knew she was losing and hammed it up like a motherfucker. Probably just another reason Erin is happy to be done with MMA. Here’s hoping she has more success in American Gladiators …. I just find it fucking lame that a lot of great female fighters are leaving the sport for something so goddamn cheeseball.

Some one give her an Oscar. Best acing I’ve seen in a while 😉 Yes, the elbows where illegal, but the bitch could have still continued. You take your 5 min break, then you come back & continue to get your ass kicked. She didn’t even want to fight, she was just laying down like a sack of potatoes.

It’s an epidemic with the number of fighters flopping from illegal hits.
Why is it that fighters can get hit multiple times in the face, chest, stomach rounds after rounds, but the moment someone hits them in the back of the head, they can’t fight anymore?

Illegal hits where fighters can no longer fight should be deemed NC.

When are you going to update the “links” section fuckface? I go there to see what’s interesting instead of going to every fucking MMA site. You honky’s need to tighten up over there!

    agreed fightlinker

  • Erin says:

But it’s goddamn FUN cheeseball. Plus, they are probably getting paid more for it without worrying about training 16 hours a day and cutting 15 lbs.

I liked when Pavia said he saw Razor Rob dislodge an ovary in Toguhill during sparring and she still kept coming.

Maybe this could be a good thing for female mma in the long run.
With Carano and Toughill getting some publicity from this american gladiator thing and then go on and fight each other.
That could generate some good buzz for womens mma.
Then Roxy could swoop in and woop em both.

  • Would be good for Gina, Toughill is a 150 fighter so she wouldn’t have to fuck up cutting again

  • Gina's boy toy says:

Not so sure if it’s a good thing for MMA unless these ladies go back to pro fighting. If they don’t they it will only be good for themself and get more press.

    Really? Are u? =P
Liar`s nose will grow in English, right?
Liar`s tongue will get cut off in the hell after his death in Japanese.

I wouldn’t worry too much about Gina quitting MMA because of AG.

She’s going to quit because of the total ass whooping that is about to be laid on her by Kaitlin Young. Check out Youtube for all three fights of her Hook n Shoot tournament win, all finished in the first minute by brual knockout.

  • Gong says:

It sucks, but they’ll probably get way more recognition from participating in AG for a season than they ever will in their MMA career. Just like other women’s sports, most of the world just don’t seem to care >:
