Affliction COO Says Things

That’s Cohen in the middle, who is apparently the champion of spewing nonsense.

Many media members have said [Affliction 2] is destined to be the MMA event of the century.

These are sounds that came out of the mouth of Affliction COO Michael D. Cohen during a recent teleconference to promote the event. The best part: a teleconference involves speaking directly to the media, so I think they might be able to smell bullshit better than most.

This statement is the equivalent of telling a group of priests fresh out of the seminary that “many members of the clergy say the best part of the life is never having sex again.” It’s like telling a room full of crippled people that “the majority of those who can’t walk say it hasn’t affected their lives much.” It’s similar to gathering up a group of homeless and saying “most claim it ain’t that bad.”

This event looks pretty solid — there’s no denying that. Affliction has put together another stacked card that will no doubt be entertaining and potentially shake up some of the rankings. If this guy came out and said that he personally believes the event was going to be one for the ages, fine. But by wording it the way he did he might as well have said “Yappity Dappity Doo Widdly Winks” and he would have achieved the same level of credibility.
